Sketch of The 1897 directory of businesses

Description

The project consists of extracting the available data from the Paris directory of businesses of 1897 and visualising it on a map of the city. The user will be able to switch between a plan from that time and the present-day map. Certain names in the directory are more visible than others (written in a larger font or framed). This hierarchy will be represented on the map, giving priority the the most relevant results of the search.

Visualisation

The search results will appear on both a map of 1895 Paris and on the present-day map. A visualisation of the actual page in the 1897 directory will be provided as well.
